1.Who we are

LittleBytes is a free, advertising-free learning practice application for children roughly ages 4–7 (KG1 through Class 2), operated from Hyderabad, Telangana, India. This policy explains what information the LittleBytes website and app handle, and — just as importantly — what they deliberately do not.

2.Information we collect

LittleBytes does not require account creation, an email address, a phone number, or any contact information to use. To personalize practice, the app asks for a child's first name and grade level. This information, together with in-app progress (coins earned, stickers unlocked, streaks, and accuracy by topic), is stored only in the device's local browser storage. It is not transmitted to LittleBytes, to its operator, or to any third party, and the operator has no access to it, no copy of it, and no ability to retrieve it if it is lost (for example, if browser data is cleared).

We do not knowingly collect precise location, device identifiers for tracking purposes, contact lists, photos, or any other personal information beyond what is described above.

3.How we use information

The name and grade level entered are used solely to personalize the content difficulty and greetings shown within the app on that device. Progress data is used solely to power in-app features such as adaptive difficulty, the sticker book, and the parent dashboard — all of which run entirely on the child's own device. None of this information is used for advertising, profiling, analytics reporting to us, or any purpose beyond operating the app as experienced on that device.

4.Children's privacy

LittleBytes is directed at children. We are especially mindful of this and have deliberately minimized what the app collects and where it is stored, as described in Section 2. However, parents and guardians should be aware of the following:

5.No advertising or third-party tracking

6.Third-party services we do use

The website and app load font files from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com / fonts.gstatic.com) to display text. This may result in your device making a request to Google's servers to retrieve font files, subject to Google's own privacy practices. No other third-party service, script, or resource is loaded by this site.

Voice narration of questions uses the text-to-speech engine already built into your device's browser or operating system. Audio is generated locally on-device and is not recorded, transmitted, or stored anywhere by LittleBytes.

7.Data security

Because progress data does not leave the child's device, its security depends substantially on the security of that device and browser, which is outside our control. We take reasonable care in how the app is built, but — as with any software — we cannot guarantee that data will never be lost, corrupted, or accessed by someone else with physical or logical access to the same device or browser profile. No warranty of absolute security is made or implied.

8.Your rights and choices

Because no personal data is held on our servers in the current version of the app, there is no account data for us to export, correct, or delete on request — all such data already resides solely on your own device, under your own control. You may delete it at any time by clearing your browser's site data for littlebytes.in, using the in-app "Reset all progress" option, or uninstalling/clearing the app if installed as a PWA. If a future version introduces server-side accounts, this section will be updated to describe applicable access, correction, and deletion rights.

9.If we add accounts, sync, or payments later

This policy describes the app as it works today. Before introducing any feature that sends data to a server — including cross-device progress sync, parent accounts, subscription/payment processing, school or organizational dashboards, or any messaging integration — this policy will be substantively rewritten, and the specific legal requirements applicable to that feature (including the DPDP Act's verifiable parental consent regime for children's data, and any payment-related consumer protection obligations) will be addressed individually and reviewed by qualified counsel before that feature is made public.

10.Disclaimer of warranties

LittleBytes is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or entirely secure. Use of the app is at the user's (and, for a child user, their parent or guardian's) own discretion and risk.

11.Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operator of LittleBytes shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising out of or relating to the use of, or inability to use, the app or website — even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude or limit liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law.

12.Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example as features change or as applicable law evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Material changes affecting how a child's data is handled will be highlighted prominently rather than left to a routine date change alone.

13.Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising in connection with it shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts at Hyderabad, Telangana, India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
